 | Planned the rest of the games and scheduled. Have

showcased in a Game. Need to follow with those with no response. |
 | Asked for permission of several cousins to publish their
wedding photos to the Photo Albums |
 | Asked for permission of several cousins to publish the date
of birth of their children in the secure sub web. |
 | Much research went into Game 12, especially in getting the
answer for the most descendants born in the late 70's and in getting the
photos of those children that were born in the late 70's. Also, some
research in designing Game 13. More homework. |
 | Have been receiving a lot of current photos. Need to
get those photos out there on their web page |
 | Have been working with Cathy Carson Anderegg on how we will
proceed with the hard-copy photo album. Logistics problem. Don't
have enough current family photos to make an album before the reunion.
Suggestion is to do the personal touch and ask each family member for their
current family photos. Mary Harding will take Jack, and Cathy and I
split up the rest. Much of it I have already done. |
 | Music on Saturday evening: Since it was a tie vote among
the Reunion Planning Committee, it has been suggested and accepted that we
play it by ear. |
 | Have been working off and on with Suzanne Beall on Food and
will get back to it this coming week. |

Post Mortem:
What We Did Right:
 | After 13 years of the majority of the family not seeing or
communicating with each other, the family website and the Reunion 2001 Games
were helpful, along with Current Family Photos on the front page of the
website. This helped everyone to know who everyone else is after all
this time. BIOS also helped to get to know our family after all these
years. --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Have a yard large enough to hold everyone. Pool was
very inviting. Almost went in w clothes on --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Plenty of bathrooms and change rooms
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Logistics of reunion was nicely laid out. Flow of
traffic was smooth. --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | 'Welcome' table --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Have a bar and bartender --Suzanne
Zazzi |
 | Icebreaker Games - fun mixer for everyone
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Easels with boards containing family tree and the Reunion
2001 Committee Members --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Clip boards with schedules, check off lists, etc.
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Order the right amount of food for lunch and had a little
too many appetizers. --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Have exactly the right amount of food for dinner
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Have several bottles of wine per dinner table and glasses
with the names of those that have passed away for toasts so that they can be
with us --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Have someone say a prayer for all those that have passed on
and for all of us --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Sing the National Anthem --Suzanne
Zazzi |
 | Have 2 great Master of Ceremonies
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Recognize our Committee members
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Recognize our Host and Hostess
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Recognize outstanding members of our family
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 |
The website receives 5 stars from
me!!!!!!!!!! --Mary Harding |
 |
Name tags, shirts, and wine toast
to those departed were all excellent --Mary Harding |
 |
Pictures, ice breakers (maybe had
two and done earlier), and web games all superb --Mary Harding |
 |
Set up was fine, no need for a
"welcome table" per se, folks were straggling in, someone should just be in
the vicinity to assist --Mary Harding |
 |
Food was good, just tooooooo much
--Mary Harding |
 |
Deluxe port-a-let was fine, a
light for night would have been a bonus
--Mary Harding |
What We Did Wrong or Things We Should Improve Upon:
 | I should have brought my whistle
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Photographers needed to be more organized.
Several photographers taking pictures at same time and I never really got a
break. Resolution: Signup sheet done in advance and everyone should
know their hour and do a turnover to the designated photographer. Rest
of photographers can take pics at any time. --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Food needed to be more organized, even though I had
everyone's commitment from N.Cal. Food really needed someone in
charge. My sisters Mary and Michelle pretty much took over the food
and asked me questions about when, if OK to do .... and where things
are...etc. One person should have been in charge along with a
team. Team should know their duties. The problem that happened
is that I loosely let it up to the N.Cal relatives to chip in, set up,
cleanup, and do the same with the appetizers. No one did. So,
assignments have to firm. --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | T-shirts were darling and helped everyone identify
everyone else. T-shirts should have been worn. Family photo
would have been so much nicer if we knew who belonged to what family by
simply looking at the color of the t-shirts. Maybe next time, no admittance
to those without t-shirts. The t-shirts was an aid for everyone, along
with name tags. --Suzanne Zazzi |
 | Welcome table should have had some relief. We
had people coming in after lunch and some arriving at 4 or 5 PM.
Welcome table should have been staffed and flag should have been attached.
--Suzanne Zazzi |
 |
Cost to a small group, anyone who
attends should contribute
--Mary Harding |
 |
Having the reunion at someone's
home was an enormous chore for the host/hostess, I think the reunion should
be held on neutral grounds
--Mary Harding |
 |
Lack of assistance for food
serving and clean-up --Mary
Harding |
 |
Forget the whistle Sue, you would
probably have been thrown in the pool
--Mary Harding |
 |
Also, cannot force folks to
buy/wear shirts --Mary
Harding |
 |
Unclear communication as to the
cost to all for reunion, shirts, photo album, website......it got confusing
with different sources for info
--Mary Harding
|
Possible Solutions:
 |
Each family brings their own
food/drink which makes more of a social get together with softball, frisbee,
football, sack races, egg or balloon toss........ and picnic, this also saves
in cost. Perhaps have dinner catered. Maybe have it at a hall with outdoor and
indoor facilities. The cost would be split up.
--Mary Harding |
 |
Keep the balloons, shirts, name
tags, family tree, photos..........Have families sign up for a time slot to do
a variety of chores - photography, clean-up, serving, etc. Committee members
would still be needed to organize games, track time.....
--Mary Harding |
Comments:
I cannot express enough appreciation
to all those people who did an incredible amount of work to pull this off, many
behind the scenes but many at the reunion providing physical labor. Brian and
Maggie did an enormous amount of work to ready their home and then clean up the
leftovers. --Mary (Harding)
Wow...just a week ago we were all together under
that giant oak tree. It was a real delight catching up with cousins and meeting
the newer generations. Also fun to overhear Irene explaining who she met to her
brothers Thomas and Brendan (back east) this past week.
Congrats, super organizer! Hope you get some well deserved rest now.
--Tom
(Colthurst)
The reunion was Great. Thank you
for all your hard work and to everyone else. I wish I had had more time to spend
with everyone, but Glory was in a hurry to return home. I drove Nancy's car for
her until we reached west Sacramento, then I rode the rest of the way with
Glory. Keep in touch. --Love Suzanne (Beall)
Thank you for all you help and organization. The
party would not have come of so smoothly without your help.
Many thanks,
Brian
(Kelly)
Dear CUZ..Thanks for being such a leader and getting us all together for the
BEST REUNION EVER!!! I saw so many smiling faces that extended well wishers to
us on their way out that "I look forward to our next reunion"...Maybe Mammoth
for a weekend and every one pot lucks .I HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN SOME NOTES THAT
INCLUDED "WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE" ? Not next month that is for sure!!! --Bob
(Beall)
We made it home at 10 pm-there was brush fire when we passed through the
Grapevine-made it very exciting. We went to Sonoma after we left Napa-did the
Mission thing-that makes 17 missions this year so far! Had a terrific time-you
did a GREAT job!!!! Thank you so much!!!! The boys can't wait for this to happen
again. They had a BALL!!! Take care and get some rest. Love, Kathy (Frehner)
Absolute kick in the
ass- We had a great time. I think we should do it every 5 years. Next time I
have a plan to make the food situation a little easier. It will be less work
for everyone.
We should keep the web site going, but Richard C. should be banded for
continual cheating.
c u Tom
P.S. It was nice to see
everybody- still miss Rick. I had a nice chance to talk with Pat C.
