August 2001 Bios (Detailed Bios below)

bulletDiane Colthurst Moczar, born      in     , CA,      county.
'Diane Colthurst Moczar (daughter of John E. (Jack) Colthurst, Jr. ) reached Medicare age in June. As a sedentary child, the only thing she really wanted to do was go to school forever and she almost did. She got grants to study history all over the place, from San Francisco, to Paris, to New York, to Washington, D.C., to Virginia. She worked briefly for various government agencies in between schools and also taught college part-time. When she finally got her doctorate in 1991 and there were no more grants or degrees to be had, she settled down to WORK, meaning adjunct teaching and writing instructors' manuals, test banks, etc. to accompany history textbooks published by Houghton Mifflin.

She has been married for 38 years to her dear Hungarian husband Lajos Moczar; they are temporarily separated due to his death in 1995. Her pride and joy is daughter Andrea, who is married to Joseph Baumann and runs a candy and gift store in Fenwick Island, Delaware, near Ocean City. Joe manages the nearby ice cream store, does their bookkeeping for the two stores, and runs the internet business.

Diane now lives in a too-large house with too much land (nearly six acres) in the middle of a forest; she also has too many cats (4),  dogs (3), tropical fish (?), and dependent wild birds. All this causes her more work than she cares to do, still being of the sedentary habit mentioned above, but at least it helps burn off the calories that result  from having a daughter in the candy business.'
