Bernard is a Swiss trained Chef w/ a degree in restaurant & hotel management. He apprenticed as a Chef in Switzerland. Swissco Foods, the business, is a wholesale manufacturer of desserts and dessert mixes (40 in all-all formulated and developed by Bernard-) which are sold to restaurants, hotels, and supermarkets primarily in the West. Swissco manufactures desserts for Ralph's Supermarkets and lots of Las Vegas hotels such as The Las Vegas Hilton, the Riviera, the Bellagio and more.  Bernard's experiences range from being a Chef at the Goodwill Games in Canada where he cooked for Queen Elizabeth to having his own restaurant in Santa Barbara, The Upham Dining Room. The restaurant in Santa Barbara was a celebrity hang-out and he routinely had Danny DeVito, Ryan O'Neal, Michael McDonald and more as regulars. In fact, Michael McDonald had his Rehearsal Dinner there and would have had his wedding reception if they could have held more people! He has also cooked for Gene Autry, Burl Ives, Arnold Shwarzenegger, Sean Connery, Henry Kissinger, George Schultz, Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielberg, and more. He is currently cheffing at the Bohemian Grove (July 2001) at Russian River for the 2nd year in a row. A few days ago he called me and he was making Ken Starr's birthday cake and Ken himself came into the kitchen to meet him. During the past year he has been asked to chef at the Winston Cup NASCAR race in Pheonix on the track for VIPs and at the Pheonix Open Golf Tournament for the PGA on the golf course. This is in addition to Swissco, kind of a fun way to keep his chef skills sharp.Other fun info-he speaks 5 languages and his family still has the family owned hotel and restaurants in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland.
